About

Why a store that sells nothing

The dataLayer is a poor thing to learn on a live site. On a live site you are not allowed to break the funnel to see what happens, and you almost never get access to the code that pushes the events — only to the container that reads them.

Here both ends are open. The pushing code is in the repository, the funnel takes thirty seconds to walk, and nothing you do has consequences.

What the site measures

The nine GA4 funnel events, from view_item_list to purchase. They are pushed to the dataLayer whether or not a GTM container is configured: without one, they are simply sitting there, visible in the console.

What it does not measure

You. As long as this site has no consent banner, Consent Mode stays in its default state — everything denied — and no measurement cookie is set. The detail is in the cookie policy.
